If you are reading this because you are considering therapy then you have already made the first step.
It is important to choose a therapist that feels right for you; the relationship of trust you build and share with your therapist allows you the comfort to explore yourself and your life. This exploration of your thoughts, feelings, and lived experiences can be healing in itself, while it also gives us guidance on how to design a life with more wellness and joy.
I chose Mental Health Counseling as a profession because of its focus on wellness. Rather than putting emphasis on what is wrong, we discover and celebrate the things that are working, and expand skills where needed. My therapeutic approach is integrative and highly person-centered. This means that I hold my clients in unconditional positive regard. The core ingredients in our work together are trust, caring, and empathy. You don’t have to hide part of yourself to be liked; I accept you as you are and will do my utmost to encourage you toward greater self-acceptance.
It is an honor to serve members of our beautifully diverse community, and it would be an honor to work with you.
