Brandy develops empowering relationships through her intuitive, compassionate, and honest approach to therapy. She brings many years of experience as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, Outpatient Mental Health Director and Social Worker in places like the Greater Binghamton Health Center and NHS Services to her counseling relationships.
Brandy's developed counseling background is complemented by her strengths, which include coordinating resources by making connections within the community, deep empathy and collaboration with others and valuing both the art of the therapuetic relationship and positive outcomes for her clients. She utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy, which includes Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Strengths-based therapy. This approach helps people to have choice and autonomy in their unique story. Throughout her experience she has found that therapuetic techniques vary on a case-by-case basis; what works for one individual, couple, or group will not work for all.
Brandy works with individuals, couples, and families. Her passion is coming alongside of those wrestling with addictions, trauma, grief, and loss. To achieve the goal of mental health wellness, she forms strong therapuetic relationships from the first session. This relationship is like that of dancing partners; it requires movement together. The dance builds trust and is the first component of empowering her clients to tell their own story.
